A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-80(D) OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO THE NOTICE OF A MEETING OF A PUBLIC BODY, TO PROVIDE THAT WRITTEN PUBLIC NOTICE MAY BE PUBLISHED ON THE OFFICIAL INTERNET WEBSITE MAINTAINED BY THE PUBLIC BODY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 30-4-80(d) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(d)    Written public notice must include but need not be limited to:

(1)    posting a copy of the notice at the principal office of the public body holding the meeting or, if no such office exists, at the building in which the meeting is to be held; or

(2)    the publication of the notice on the official internet website maintained by the public body."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
