A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. CAMILLA "CAMMIE" CROKER WILLS, OF BERKELEY COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY, AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MANY MORE YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are delighted to learn that Mrs. Camilla "Cammie" Croker Wills will celebrate her one hundredth birthday on April 13, 2008; and

Whereas, Cammie Wills was born on April 13, 1908, just after the dawn of the twentieth century, and as that century and the beginnings of the twenty-first century have brought incredible changes and developments to this nation, Mrs. Wills has been there to witness all of them; and

Whereas, the daughter of Jim and Sarah Modestine Croker, she wed Robert Wills in 1920 and spent her years as a dedicated and loving housewife and mother. Robert and Cammie Wills were married almost fifty years and parented four children, Marian, Geruth, Roxie, and Andrew, who have given their parents the joy of thirty-seven grandchildren, seventy-six great-grandchildren, and thirty great-great-grandchildren; and

Whereas, in recognition of her one hundredth birthday, Mrs. Wills' family members, led by her daughter Geruth Graham, will host a celebratory gathering on April 12, 2008, in St. Stephen to honor their oldest living relative, one who has been a role model for them all; and

Whereas, the Senate is proud to honor this truly lovely lady at the celebration of her centennial birthday and joins with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mrs. Camilla "Cammie" Croker Wills, of Berkeley County, on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday, and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and many more years of health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Cammie Wills.
