A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MELISSA RAWL FOR BEING NAMED 2008 SECONDARY LEVEL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR BY THE SECONDARY PRINCIPALS' DIVISION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS.

Whereas, Mrs. Melissa Rawl has the universally admired and respected traits of an educational leader; and

Whereas, Mrs. Rawl has been an educator for thirty years, serving as both teacher and department head at Lexington High School before becoming assistant principal at Lexington High School in 2001; and

Whereas, over the past three years, Mrs. Rawl has been responsible for the growth of Lexington High School's Advanced Placement program, which has grown from one hundred fifty-eight students to three hundred and fifty-one students; and

Whereas, Melissa Rawl was named 2008 Secondary Level Assistant Principal of the Year by the Secondary Principals' Division of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators; and

Whereas, last year, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators also awarded Lexington High School the coveted First Palmetto's Finest award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate congratulate Mrs. Melissa Rawl for being named 2008 Secondary Level Assistant Principal of the Year by the Secondary Principals' Division of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Melissa Rawl.
