A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR TOMMESENIA FLOYD OF MARION COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO HER FAMILY, FAITH, AND COMMUNITY, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEARS.

Whereas, a charming and lovely South Carolina lady, Tommesenia Floyd is a lifetime resident of Nichols, South Carolina; and

Whereas, a devoted mother and grandmother, Tommesenia adores her four daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and

Whereas, steadfast in her faith and in serving her church community, Tommesenia is a lifetime member of First Friendship Baptist Church; and

Whereas, committed to bettering her community through service, Tommesenia is a twenty-six year member of the Nichols Town Council and stands as the first African American and the first African American woman ever to be elected to the governing body; and

Whereas, a woman of principle, Tommesenia is a proud fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter Progressive 104, of Nichols; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the House of Representatives pause to honor this outstanding daughter of South Carolina for all she has done to benefit her own community and South Carolina as a whole. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Tommesenia Floyd of Marion County for her outstanding contributions to her family, faith, and community, and wish her all the best in the coming years.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Tommesenia Floyd.
