A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE SUMMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING TEAM FOR ITS EXCEPTIONAL SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE 2008 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S SUPERLATIVE PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.

Whereas, the Green Wave of Summerville High School once again plowed under its opponents to grab the 2008 Class AAAA State Wrestling Championship title on February 9, 2008; and

Whereas, Coach Kenny Walker and his assistant coaches, Darryl Tucker, Reuben Daniels, Tim Marzuola, Rob Murray, and Braxton Harrison, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built their wrestling program into a championship team; and

Whereas, this crowning victory caps a stellar season for the Green Wave, the team's final record being 25-2, and marks the latest of many such championship wins; and

Whereas, the Green Wave has brought great pride and recognition to its school and community, and the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Summerville High School wrestling team for its exceptional season and for capturing the 2008 Class AAAA State Championship title, and honor the team's superlative players, coaches, and staff.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the principal of Summerville High School, Roger Edwards, and Coach Kenny Walker.
