TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE REVEREND ROBERT L. SIMPSON, JR., OF GREENVILLE COUNTY, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS INSTALLATION AS PASTOR AT VICTORY TEMPLE BAPTIST CHURCH, AND TO COMMEND THE MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION AS THEY MINISTER TO THEIR COMMUNITY TOGETHER.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Reverend Robert L. Simpson was installed as pastor on January 27, 2008, to serve the congregation of Victory Temple Baptist Church; and
Whereas, the son of Robert L. Simpson, Sr., and the late Brenda J. Simpson, he is happily married to his beloved Carol Beal Simpson and has four fine sons, Quez, Joshua, Jaiden, and Josiah; and
Whereas, a graduate of Greenville Technical College and of the Interdenominational Theological Center at Morehouse School of Religion, Reverend Robert Simpson is presently enrolled in the NJ Brockman School of Religion at the Martin Webb Learning Center, seeking an associates degree in theology; and
Whereas, in 1999, he joined the family of the Rock of Ages Baptist Church, where he served faithfully, and he was licensed to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ on March 9, 2003; and
Whereas, since that time he has been spreading the good news of Christ by preaching in area churches, prisons, and community centers, wherever a need arises; and
Whereas, Reverend Simpson is a member of the Baptist Ministers' Fellowship of Greenville and Vicinity, and he is employed at Horizon Forest Products of Greenville; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are thankful that Reverend Robert L. Simpson has been installed as pastor at Victory Temple Baptist Church to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and congratulate him and his congregation on this momentous occasion. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Reverend Robert L. Simpson, Jr., of Greenville County, upon the occasion of his installation as pastor at Victory Temple Baptist Church, and commend the members of the congregation as they minister to their community together.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Reverend Robert L. Simpson, Jr.
