TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL "LADY EAGLES" SOFTBALL TEAM, OF CHARLESTON COUNTY, ON ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2008 SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, well prepared for the challenge, the Northside Christian School "Lady Eagles" softball team, of Charleston County, crowned its superlative season by capturing the 2008 South Carolina Association of Christian Schools Class 2A State Championship title, defeating Conway 4-0 on Friday, April 25, 2008, and Sumter 9-3 on Saturday, April 26, 2008; and
Whereas, championship play in softball demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team play and good sportsmanship, and the Lady Eagles have them all; and
Whereas, putting his team's talents and attributes to good use, Coach Dan Smith and his assistant coach, Don Stachelek, showed fans and foes alike that the Lady Eagles' winning of this victory was no lucky accident; and
Whereas, to add to the luster of a great season, Northside players Elizabeth Devoll, Kelsey Nash, and Lindsey Nash were named to the All-Tournament team; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Northside Christian School girls softball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the softball field and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Northside Christian School "Lady Eagles" softball team, of Charleston County, on its outstanding season and impressive win of the 2008 South Carolina Association of Christian Schools Class 2A State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the administrator of Northside Christian School, Dr. Cecil Beach, and Coach Dan Smith.
