A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE JOHN AND ALICE BOULWARE OF BLACKSTOCK ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND FULFILLMENT.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that John and Alice Boulware soon will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and

Whereas, there is no greater success in life than a marriage that endures the test of time and grows stronger with each passing year; and

Whereas, the long-lasting love and support of a spouse is unmatched in its importance and cannot be overestimated; and

Whereas, since their marriage on May 19, 1960, John Boulware and his Alice have made their home in Blackstock, the town where the two sweethearts were born, the Lord blessing their union with a fine family of two children, daughter Carolyn Boulware Salters and son Robert Melvin Boulware; and

Whereas, their commitment to one another over the past fifty years is to be revered and serves as an inspiration to both family and friends; and

Whereas, as caring members of their community, John and Alice contribute in various ways to its welfare. Alice, a housewife, is famed for her cooking and nursing abilities, while John still works at Blackstock Fish Camp, which he has owned and operated for thirty-two years--a great excuse to indulge one of his favorite pastimes, fishing. John is also active at New Independent Church, Alice at Christian Faith Church, and both draw strength from their commitment at their respective houses of worship; and

Whereas, in addition, John served as a 4H Club leader for many years and is presently president of the Blackstock Community Association; and

Whereas, in recognition of their golden anniversary, John and Alice will be honored by family and friends with a celebratory dinner on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Fairfield Recreation Center in Winnsboro; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the Senate express their congratulations to these two special South Carolinians on reaching this important milestone in their journey through life together. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate John and Alice Boulware of Blackstock on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of blessing and fulfillment.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to John and Alice Boulware.
