A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE HONORABLE WILLIAM PRESSLEY STEELE, JR., UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS AN ANDERSON COUNTY MAGISTRATE, AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO OUR STATE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate have learned that one of Anderson County's most respected public servants, William Pressley Steele, Jr., will be retiring this year after a distinguished career serving the citizens of Anderson County; and

Whereas, since 1986, this native son of Anderson has dispensed justice on both the criminal and civil sides of the Summary Court, managing annual caseloads of five to six thousand; and

Whereas, he has been recognized by his peers, who have chosen him to serve as president of the State Summary Court Judges Association, guest lecturer for new judges, and on various statewide judicial committees; and

Whereas, the loving husband of Marietta Yeung Steele and proud father of Gregory Roux Steele, Judge Steele exemplifies the traits that make South Carolina's public servants great; and

Whereas, after twenty-four years of faithful service in the magistrates court, the Honorable William Pressley Steele, Jr. will begin a much-deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate of South Carolina congratulates the Honorable William Pressley Steele, Jr., upon the occasion of his retirement as an Anderson County magistrate, commends him for many years of dedicated service to our State, and wishes him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Honorable William Pressley Steele, Jr.
