A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR SUMMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR WRESTLER JORDAN WIGGER FOR ANOTHER OUTSTANDING WRESTLING SEASON, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR PUTTING A HOLD ON HIS FOURTH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Jordan Wigger pinned down the individual state championship trophy on Saturday, February 25, 2012; and

Whereas, Greenwave wrestler Jordan Wigger entered the state finals as Summerville High School's all-time leader with 165 wins and 133 pins, having lost only two matches in his career, both in his freshman year; and

Whereas, competing in the 120-pound weight class, he pinned his Stratford High School opponent with five seconds to go in the first period to give him his fourth consecutive state wrestling championship; and

Whereas, only three other Class AAAA grapplers have ever accomplished four back-to-back state championships; and

Whereas, for the second year in a row, Summerville High School produced a four-time state champion, and it is the first time any Class AAAA school has ever produced consecutive four-time state champs; and

Whereas, in a sport that demands individual discipline as well as mental and physical strength, Jordan Wigger has grappled with opponents and in the process has learned lessons that will prove invaluable through life both on and off the mat; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the pride and recognition that Jordan Wigger has brought to Summerville High School and to his community and look to hear of his continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Summerville High School senior wrestler Jordan Wigger for another outstanding wrestling season, and congratulate him for putting a hold on his fourth state championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Jordan Wigger.
