A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE HENRY L. AND NEINO W. POLK OF SUMTER COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND FULFILLMENT.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to learn that Henry L. Polk and Neino W. Polk of Sumter County will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary on April 7, 2012; and

Whereas, there is no greater success in life than a marriage and family life that endure the test of time and grow stronger with each passing year; and

Whereas, the long-lasting love and support of a spouse is unmatched in its importance and cannot be overestimated; and

Whereas, Henry and Neino Polk's commitment to one another over the past fifty years is to be revered and serves as an inspiration to both family and friends; and

Whereas, in April 1957, the young Henry Lee Polk took up his duties as an employee of Milford Plantation, and, serving as assistant superintendent, bartender, butler, and chauffeur for the Clark family, he worked there for nearly five decades; and

Whereas, while Henry served at Milford Plantation, Neino Washington Polk worked as a custodian at Williamsburg Nursing Home for twelve years and at the University of South Carolina Sumter for fifteen years; and

Whereas, Henry Polk considers it one of the greatest triumphs of his life that he was able to persuade Neino to become his wife. They are the proud parents of three daughters, Loretta, Naomie, and Delphine, and the delighted grandparents of Kaitlyn, Kendrick, Derius, and Kendall; and

Whereas, to honor Henry and Neino on their fiftieth anniversary, family and friends will gather around them at a celebratory event to be held on April 7, 2012; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the General Assembly express their congratulations to these two special South Carolinians on reaching the milestone of their golden wedding anniversary. Now, therefore,
