A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DEPUTY DANE KEEFE OF THE FLORENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE PRO-ACTIVE CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT (PACE) UNIT UPON RECEIVING THE 2011 NATIONAL CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT ASSOCIATION (NCEA) STREET LEVEL INTERDICTION OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD, AND TO EXPRESS DEEP GRATITUDE FOR HIS MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF THIS GREAT STATE.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Deputy Dane Keefe of the Florence County Sheriff's Office PACE Unit has been named the 2011 NCEA Street Level Interdiction Officer of the Year; and

Whereas, Deputy Keefe was also recognized as having the largest single seizure of crack cocaine (street level) for 2011; and

Whereas, as a member of the nationally award-winning Florence County Sheriff's Office PACE Unit, this courageous officer's work goes far beyond a "bust" or two a year; rather, the PACE team trains and works continually in communities across Florence County; and

Whereas, founded in 1999 and presently representing more than 4,500 members, NCEA is recognized as the leading organization for training and networking for criminal enforcement officers in the nation; and

Whereas, grateful for his sacrifice and service in protecting the citizens of Florence County, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives congratulate Deputy Dane Keefe on being selected to receive this prestigious and well-deserved honor, the 2011 NCEA Street Level Interdiction Officer of the Year award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Deputy Dane Keefe of the Florence County Sheriff's Office Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (PACE) Unit upon receiving the 2011 National Criminal Enforcement Association (NCEA) Street Level Interdiction Officer of the Year award, and express deep gratitude for his meritorious service to the citizens of this great State.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Deputy Dane Keefe.
