THE COMMITTEE ON FISH, GAME AND FORESTRY

To whom was referred a Bill (S. 1222) to amend Section 50-23-11, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to watercraft dealer demonstration numbers, so as to provide that they may be assigned, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by striking all after the enacting words and inserting:

/    SECTION    1.    Section 50-23-11(A)(3) of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 344 of 2008, is amended to read:

"(3)    being operated for purposes of buyer demonstration or advertising by owners, employees, or corporate officers of the dealership, provided that any watercraft being used for advertising and using demonstration numbers must display prominently the fact that the watercraft is for sale by the marine dealer and display contact information;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. /

Renumber sections to conform.

Amend title to conform.

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-23-11, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO WATERCRAFT DEALER DEMONSTRATION NUMBERS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THEY MAY BE ASSIGNED TO WATERCRAFT OPERATED FOR PURPOSES OF BUYER ADVERTISING BY OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, OR CORPORATE OFFICERS OF A DEALERSHIP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-23-11(A)(3) of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 344 of 2008, is amended to read:

"(3)    being operated for purposes of buyer demonstration or advertising by owners, employees, or corporate officers of the dealership;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
