The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 86:17: "--you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me."
Let us pray. Creator God, thank You for making us Your children and feeding us not only by bread alone, but by Your word. Keep these Your people, whom You have called to be workers for this State, in Your love and care. Comfort and sustain them in their duties. Bestow Your blessings upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all others who support these representatives. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
