Pursuant to an invitation the Honorable Speaker and House of Representatives appeared in the Senate Chamber on February 23, 2017, at 11:50 A.M. and the following Acts and Joint Resolutions were ratified:

Matthews, Setzler and Fanning: A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT THE OPENING DATE FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS DURING THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR MAY BE AS EARLY AS THURSDAY, AUGUST SEVENTEENTH, IN THE DISCRETION OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

Kirby, Jordan, Williams, Alexander and Lowe: AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 84 OF 2011, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF FLORENCE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER THREE, SO AS TO EXTEND THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF FLORENCE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER THREE TO FOUR YEARS, TO STAGGER THE TERMS OF THE MEMBERS, TO REQUIRE THAT THE MEMBERS BE ELECTED AT A GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN AN EVEN-NUMBERED YEAR, AND TO PROVIDE THE PROCESS BY WHICH A VACANCY IS FILLED.
