A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE GENE BRANHAM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE TO KERSHAW COUNTY AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Gene Branham upon the occasion of his retirement for his many accomplishments in service to the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Mr. Branham has enjoyed a forty-five year career with Lynches River Electric Cooperative; and

Whereas, Gene Branham served on the local Kershaw County Transportation Committee for twenty years and as a South Carolina State Transportation Commissioner for District 5 for the past year; and

Whereas, a true patriot, Mr. Branham served his country in the National Guard for six years; and

Whereas, he currently serves on the Applied Technology Education Campus Advisory Board, and he is a past recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award presented by the Westville Fire Department; and

Whereas, Mr. Branham is married to Gail H. Branham, and they have three adult children, David, Patricia, and Adam. He has been a resident of Kershaw County for more than forty-three years; and

Whereas, Mr. Branham has been a member of Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #170 for forty years. He currently serves as a deacon at Providence Baptist Church; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the passion and enduring commitment that Mr. Gene Branham has shown in serving the State and the people of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Gene Branham upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his years of distinguished public service to Kershaw County and the State of South Carolina, and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Gene Branham.
