A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 59-20-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DETERMINATION OF ANNUAL ALLOCATIONS TO EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE PUPIL CLASSIFICATION WEIGHTING FOR CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY MUST APPLY TO GRADES SIX THROUGH EIGHT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 59-20-40(1)(c) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding an undesignated paragraph at the end to read:

    "Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the pupil classification weighting for career and technology provided in subitem (c) must apply to grades six through eight."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
