TO SUPPORT THE TOWN OF PAGELAND'S BID TO BE SELECTED FOR THE TELEVISION PROGRAM SMALL BUSINESS REVOLUTION - MAIN STREET AND TO RECOGNIZE JANUARY 24, 2019, AS "MY PAGELAND DAY" IN SOUTH CAROLINA IN RECOGNITION OF THE TOWN'S OUTSTANDING CAMPAIGN.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are delighted to learn that the Town of Pageland is competing to be featured on the television program Small Business Revolution - Main Street, airing on HULU and championed by DELUXE; and
Whereas, Small Business Revolution - Main Street seeks communities that could benefit from a five hundred thousand dollar investment in small businesses and expert guidance in marketing and other business information systems; and
Whereas, Pageland, South Carolina, is a proud community of large and small business people who have united to pursue this endeavor for the betterment of their community; and
Whereas, a vital part of Pageland, the town's small business community would benefit greatly from this expert assistance and investment. Such investment would strengthen the small business community's place at the heart of the town; and
Whereas, Pageland's community leaders support this effort to grow Pageland's small business community, which would in turn benefit the citizens of Pageland and the Town of Pageland as a whole; and
Whereas, in ascending to the top ten towns for consideration, Pageland's small business spirit, drive, and need have been recognized by Small Business Revolution - Main Street's producers, who will be visiting the town on January 24, 2019; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate support and applaud Pageland for its outstanding efforts in support of its small business community and its citizens, and the members appreciate the pride and recognition that the town has brought to the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, support the Town of Pageland's bid to be selected for the television program Small Business Revolution - Main Street and recognize January 24, 2019, as "My Pageland Day" in South Carolina in recognition of the town's outstanding campaign.
