A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF CHRISTOPHER PATRICK LINDSAY OF COLUMBIA AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Christopher Patrick Lindsay of Columbia on October 12, 2018, at the age of forty-nine; and

Whereas, born June 8, 1969, in Columbia, Christopher Patrick Lindsay was the son of Christopher and Donzetta Taylor-Lindsay and the grandson of Onalee D. Taylor; and

Whereas, having received his early education in the public schools of Richland County, the young Christopher graduated from Lower Richland High School, Class of 1988, and furthered his education at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, where he received his bachelor's degree. Later, he attended Webster University in Columbia, where he earned his master's degree; and

Whereas, Chris began his career at Voorhees College, working in career advancement with the students. He joined Allen University as a recruiter and later transitioned to Benedict College as a governmental-relations liaison; and

Whereas, as a man of faith, Chris was a member of Columbia's First Nazareth Baptist Church. The Lord gave him the lovely Sheirl to be his wife in 2008 and blessed their union with two children: a son, Christon, and a daughter, Christianna; and

Whereas, Chris Lindsay leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sheirl N. Mack-Lindsay; his son, Christon D. Lindsay; his daughter, Christianna N.D. Lindsay; his devoted parents, Christopher and Do0nzetta Taylor-Lindsay of Columbia; a loving brother, Shawn Lindsay of New Orleans, Louisiana; a grandmother, Onalee D. Taylor of Columbia; and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Christopher Patrick Lindsay of Columbia and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Sheirl N. Mack-Lindsay for the family.
