A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE BOB MERRITT FOR DONATING HIS TWO HUNDREDTH PINT OF BLOOD TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS IN AIDING THE ORGANIZATION IN CARRYING OUT ITS LIFE-SAVING MISSION.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Bob Merritt on reaching this important milestone; and

Whereas, for the past fifty years, Bob Merritt has given blood to the American Red Cross on a regular basis; and

Whereas, on February 13, 2019, he gave his two hundredth pint of twenty-five gallons; and

Whereas, Mr. Merritt has received a number of honors and awards for his selfless efforts to help those in need, including an award for over one hundred donations to the American Red Cross in 2005 and an award for one hundred forty-nine donations in 2009; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that Bob Merritt has brought to our State through his dedication to these life-saving efforts. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor and recognize Bob Merritt for donating his two hundredth pint of blood to the American Red Cross and commend him for his significant contributions in aiding the organization in carrying out its life-saving mission.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Bob Merritt.
