A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME THE PORTION OF HEMMINGWAY HIGHWAY IN WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH WILD TURKEY ROAD TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH HENRY ROAD "W.B. WILSON 'THE WORKHORSE' HIGHWAY" AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS PORTION OF HIGHWAY CONTAINING THESE WORDS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly believe it is appropriate to recognize exceptional individuals who tirelessly serve the citizens of their communities; and

Whereas, one individual that exemplifies these qualities is the Honorable W.B. Wilson of Williamsburg County; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilson dedicated twenty-three years of his life as a member of the Williamsburg County Council representing District 2; and

Whereas, it would be fitting and proper to recognize his commitment to his constituents and the citizens of Williamsburg County by having a portion of highway named in his honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request the Department of Transportation name the portion of Hemmingway Highway in Williamsburg County from its intersection with Wild Turkey Road to its intersection with Henry Road "W.B. Wilson 'The Workhorse' Highway" and erect appropriate markers or signs along this portion of highway containing these words.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
