A senate RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE HISTORIC CHARTERING OF THE ALPHA DELTA OMEGA OMEGA CHAPTER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY INC., THE FIRST DIVINE NINE ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHED IN DILLON COUNTY, AND TO COMMEND ITS CHARTER MEMBERS FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE AND COMMUNITY UPLIFT.
Whereas, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. was founded on January 15, 1908, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C.; and
Whereas, Alpha Delta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. was chartered on February 11, 2026, as the first Divine Nine organization established in Dillon County; and
Whereas, the establishment of this chapter reflects vision, perseverance, and dedication, and expands the legacy of service, leadership, and advocacy associated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. within Dillon County; and
Whereas, the charter members of the Alpha Delta Omega Omega Chapter are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Dillon County through education, health awareness, and civic engagement; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate commend the charter members of the Alpha Delta Omega Omega Chapter for their leadership and service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor the historic chartering of the Alpha Delta Omega Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the first Divine Nine organization established in Dillon County, and commend its charter members for their commitment to service and community uplift.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Alpha Delta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in recognition of this historic achievement.
