A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE Kings Academy GIRLS Volleyball TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA Independent School Association CLASS 2a GIRLS Volleyball STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize The King's Academy girls volleyball team for winning the South Carolina Independent School Association Class 2A girls volleyball state championship on October 27, 2025, at Cardinal Newman High School; and
Whereas, this historic win marks the program's first state championship in school history after being state runner-up for the previous three years; and
Whereas, in the championship game, The King's Academy defeated Laurens Academy by a score of 3-2; and
Whereas, with an exceptional season overall, the team finished with a record of 25-6; and
Whereas, the winning team included players Addi Bescher, Kate Buckley, Ella Creel, Gabby Cox, Ava Grace Keefe, Clara Lowe, Lauren Mills, Lillian Reeves, and Emma Taflinger; and
Whereas, The Kings Academy girls volleyball team has flourished under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Kyle Buckley, assistant coaches, Sarah Margaret Bilton and Caitlin Cooksey, and Athletic Director Greg Johnson; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that The King's Academy girls volleyball team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented athletes. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate The King's Academy girls volleyball team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning the South Carolina Independent School Association Class 2A girls volleyball state championship.
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be presented to The King's Academy girls volleyball team, Coach Kyle Buckley, and Head of School, Scott Shelley.
