A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVE TEAM FOR ITS DEDICATED SERVICE, PROFESSIONALISM, AND EXTRAORDINARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO the SAFETY of THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Dive Team, which is a highly trained and specialized unit composed of sworn law enforcement officers who voluntarily undertake rigorous training to conduct underwater search, rescue, recovery, and investigative operations; and

 

Whereas, members of the dive team routinely operate in hazardous and unpredictable environments including rivers, lakes, coastal waters, and flood zones, often under conditions of limited visibility, strong currents, and extreme weather, placing themselves at great personal risk in service to others; and

 

Whereas, the dive team provides critical support to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and communities throughout South Carolina, assisting in life-saving rescues, recovery operations, and the preservation of vital evidence in criminal investigations; and

 

Whereas, beyond their extensive and demanding duties, these highly trained professionals have selflessly volunteered their time and expertise to deliver swim lessons in communities across South Carolina, helping to prevent drowning and improve water safety; and

 

Whereas, through professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Dive Team exemplifies the highest traditions of public service and reflects great credit upon the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the State of South Carolina; and

 

Whereas, the members of the dive team balance these demanding responsibilities with their regular law enforcement duties, demonstrating exceptional dedication, teamwork, and a strong sense of duty to the citizens they serve.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Dive Team for its dedicated service, professionalism, and extraordinary contributions to the safety of the citizens of South Carolina.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Dive Team.
