A house RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE Lexington High School cheer squad, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THE 2025 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA Division I STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Lexington High cheer squad captured the state title at the state competition held at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia on November 22, 2025; and

Whereas, to the cheers of their spirited fans, the Lexington Wildcat cheerleaders defeated a competitive group of rivals with a score of 329.5. This marked the program's fourth state title in just six years; and

Whereas, the Wildcats' victory was made all the sweeter when all three teams on the podium in Division I competition represented Lexington County Schools as River Bluff finished second and Dutch Fork placed third, and Irmo was fourth in Class AAAAA Division II; and

Whereas, in a sport that exacts precision, poise, and power, Head Coach Leigh Watson and her skilled coaching staff capitalized on their own athletic ability and training to hone yet another championship-caliber team and teach these athletes life principles that will endure beyond the mats; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the pride and recognition that the Lexington cheerleaders have consistently brought to their school and their community, and the members look forward to following their continued accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Lexington High School cheer squad, coaches, and school officials for an extraordinary season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina Class AAAAA Division I State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Jennifer McNair and Coach Leigh Watson.
