VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A concurrent RESOLUTION
To recognize and honor the Dixie High School girls Cross Country team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and to congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class A State Championship Title.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to learn that on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Aiken Steeplechase course, the Dixie High School girls cross country team took home the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class A State Championship title; and
Whereas, the Dixie High School girls cross country team, having an impressive season, defended their Class A title and dominated the competition with a remarkable score of 23 points, easily defeating the runner-up Riverwalk Academy, who finished with a score of 60 points; and
Whereas, Senior Rachel Prescott won the individual title with an outstanding time of 19:55.98. The Dixie Hornets finished with all five runners in the top nine, following Rachel Prescott, Talia Felter finished in fourth place with a time of 20:44.68, Ella Felter finished in sixth place with a time of 22:22.05, Adelaide Culclasure finished in seventh place with a time of 22:32.67, and Della Rhodes-Jenkins finished in ninth place with a time of 22:44.13; and
Whereas, in a sport that demands mental and physical strength and endurance, Head Coach Paul Prescott and his talented coaching staff utilized their own experience and passion for the sport to mold a championship-caliber team. The lessons that this coaching staff have instilled in these young athletes on and off the course will prove invaluable to them throughout their lives and running careers; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly value the pride and recognition that the Dixie High School girls cross country team have brought to their school and community. They look forward to continuing to follow the Hornets and their future accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Dixie High School girls cross country team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class A State Championship Title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dixie High School Principal and Head Coach Paul Prescott.
