A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR SKILLSUSA FOR ITS EFFORTS TO ENSURE THAT AMERICA HAS A SKILLED WORKFORCE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is deeply grateful for the work of SkillsUSA in partnership with students, teachers, and industry to ensure a skilled workforce across America; and
Whereas, a national nonprofit educational association, SkillsUSA serves students in middle and high schools and in college and postsecondary schools to help them each excel by preparing them for careers in trade, technical, and skilled-service occupations, including health occupations; and
Whereas, SkillsUSA serves more than three hundred thousand students and instructors annually, including over twenty thousand instructors who join as professional members, and with alumni, membership totals over four hundred thousand; and
Whereas, SkillsUSA has served over thirteen million annual members cumulatively since 1965 and is recognized by the United States Department of Education and the United States Department of Labor as a successful model of employer-driven workforce development; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the work of SkillsUSA to prepare a skilled workforce and urges all South Carolinians to learn about this significant organization. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor SkillsUSA for its efforts to ensure that America has a skilled workforce.
