A house RESOLUTION

 

to express strong support for the Big Homie Lil Homie Mentoring Program and its mission to uplift and empower youth through meaningful mentorship; to encourage community members, local leaders, businesses, and organizations to partner with, volunteer for, and invest in the success of the program; and to encourage the exploration of opportunities to provide resources, visibility, and institutional support to expand the outreach and impact of the program.

 

Whereas, Big Homie Lil Homie is a nonprofit organization that uplifts young males by molding and shaping them into great men of society through mentoring, and

 

Whereas, the Big Homie Lil Homie mentoring program is designed to connect experienced, responsible mentors, Big Homies, with youth, Lil Homies, to foster personal growth, leadership development, accountability, and community engagement; and

 

Whereas, the program promotes values including respect, integrity, education, conflict resolution, and civic responsibility; and

 

Whereas, mentoring relationships have been shown to improve outcomes in education, to reduce involvement in negative behaviors, and to strengthen community ties; and

 

Whereas, the Big Homie Lil Homie mentoring program seeks to create safe spaces for dialogue, skill building, and empowerment, particularly for male youth who may face systemic barriers or limited access to resources; and

 

Whereas, supporting mentorship initiatives contributes to building stronger, safer, and more connected communities. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express strong support for the Big Homie Lil Homie mentoring program and its mission to uplift and empower youth through meaningful mentorship; encourage community members, local leaders, businesses, and organizations to partner with, volunteer for, and invest in the success of the program; and encourage the exploration of opportunities to provide resources, visibility, and institutional support to expand the outreach and impact of the program.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the leadership of Big Homie Lil Homie.
