A house RESOLUTION

 

to congratulate GBENGA ALADE, a veteran banking strategist, for his appointment as the MANAGING DIRECTOR/CEO of the ASSET MANAGEMENT CORPORATION OF NIGERIA in 2024.

 

Whereas, with over thirty-five years of global experience in corporate turnaround and enterprise risk management, Gbenga Alade's appointment to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria  (AMCON) followed a career in high-stakes environments, including senior roles at the Bank of Montreal and Citibank; and

 

Whereas, he is best known for his record-breaking tenure as CEO of GTBank in Sierra Leone where he achieved the highest profitability and service efficiency in the country for four consecutive years; and

 

Whereas, Mr. Alade's expertise is central to AMCON's mission of stabilizing Nigeria's financial sector by managing distressed national assets. Utilizing a sophisticated, data-driven approach to portfolio management and risk modeling, he has institutionalized new frameworks for asset recovery that balance aggressive debt resolution with macroeconomic stability; and

 

Whereas, his educational foundation at Kellogg School of Management and Columbia Business School

provides the rigor necessary for his complex mandate; and

 

Whereas, Mr. Alade is dedicated to advocating for corporate governance and boardroom accountability. As a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, he has mentored numerous banking leaders, instilling a culture of process reengineering and competitive strategy; and

 

Whereas, his leadership is widely regarded as the cornerstone of the current efforts to secure long-term stability and profitability for the Nigerian banking landscape; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the management expertise and business skills that Gbenga Alade brings to AMCON on behalf of the country of Nigeria. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Gbenga Alade, a veteran banking strategist, for his appointment as the managing director/CEO of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria in 2024.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Gbenga Alade.
