A house RESOLUTION

 

to recognize the HONorable SHEKU AHMED FANTAMADI BANGURA, MINISTER OF FINANCE for the REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE.

 

Whereas, the Honorable Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura, Minister of Finance for the Republic of Sierra Leone, is a seasoned economist and technocrat with three decades of experience at the intersection of public policy and global development; and

 

Whereas, having served as a senior advisor at the World Bank Group, Minister Bangura brings an international perspective to Sierra Leone's fiscal management. His leadership is particularly noted for his resilience and technical prowess, notably during his tenure as Deputy Minister of Finance during the national COVID-19 response; and

 

Whereas, as the Minister of Finance, he has been a steady hand during periods of extreme economic volatility. He is credited with fostering fiscal discipline and maintaining investor confidence through transparent budget reforms and aggressive debt management strategies; and

 

Whereas, Minister Bangura's academic pedigree includes degrees from McGill University and American University, which underpins his data-driven approach to economic planning and policy formulation; and

 

Whereas, he is a key figure in regional financial cooperation, representing Sierra Leone in vital dialogues with the IMF and other multilateral institutions. His commitment to long-term economic sustainability is evident in his focus on expanding the country's domestic revenue mobilization; and

 

Whereas, by maintaining a balance between fiscal austerity and the need for social investment, Minister Bangura has positioned Sierra Leone for a more resilient economic future; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the financial expertise and economic planning skills that the Honorable Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura brings to the Republic of Sierra Leone as the Minister of Finance. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize the Honorable Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura, Minister of Finance for the Republic of Sierra Leone.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Sheku Ahmed Fantamadi Bangura.
