A house RESOLUTION

 

to recognize His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, executive governor of IMO State in Nigeria.

 

Whereas, His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State in Nigeria, is widely recognized as a visionary and transformational leader, whose administration has been guided by the strategic "3R" agenda of rehabilitation, reconstruction, and recovery; and

 

Whereas, drawing from his extensive legislative experience as a former senator and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise, he has brought a strong policy, governance, and development perspective to the leadership of Imo State; and

 

Whereas, since assuming office, Governor Uzodimma has prioritized infrastructure renewal, institutional strengthening, and economic transformation. His administration has undertaken extensive investments in road infrastructure, urban renewal, and digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity, improving public service delivery, and creating an enabling environment for sustainable growth. A defining milestone of his administration was the successful hosting of the 2025 Imo Investment and Economic Summit, a landmark event that attracted global stakeholders and facilitated strategic investment commitments; and

 

Whereas, through collaborations with leading development finance institutions, including Afreximbank, the state has continued to advance its economic development agenda. Governor Uzodimma has also demonstrated a strong commitment to human capital development through the "Skill-Up Imo" initiative, which has equipped thousands of young people with digital and technology-driven skills, thereby fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities across the state; and

 

Whereas, his administration is focused on improving the ease of doing business through strategic reforms and investor-friendly policies, enhancing the state's attractiveness to both domestic and international investors; and

 

Whereas, signature infrastructure projects, including the Assumpta Twin Flyover and the development of the Orashi Special Energy Free Trade Zone, underscore his commitment to accelerating economic growth and positioning Imo State as a key driver of regional and national development; and

 

Whereas, Governor Uzodimma is widely respected for his dedication to inclusive governance, infrastructure development, economic revitalization, and the long-term prosperity of Imo State, reinforcing his standing as one of Nigeria's leading subnational reformers and development-focused leaders. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize His Excellency Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State in Nigeria.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to His Excellency Hope Uzodimma.
