A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO recognize heather harris for her service to THE SOUTH CAROLINA BOARD OF PHARMACY, TO COMMEND HER FOR HER many YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Heather Harris for her service as a member of the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy; and

 

Whereas, a native of Newberry County, Heather comes from a long line of pharmacists. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2005; and

 

Whereas, Heather began her career in pharmacy while still in high school working for her father at LoRex Drugs. After graduating with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Heather continued to work in the family business and other small independents, and she broadened her knowledge base by entering the corporate pharmacy world; and

 

Whereas, in a few short years, Heather advanced in her career, rising from relief pharmacist to Manager of Pharmacy and Wellness at SCANA Corporation. Her dedication to improving the practice of pharmacy and patient care has included implementing programs such as tobacco cessation, weight management, nutrition, and pre-diabetes intervention; and

 

Whereas, Heather is an advocate of immunizations and has spearheaded numerous vaccine clinics across the state. Having practiced pharmacy in both an independent and corporate environment, she has a unique and diversified scope of pharmacy practice; and

 

Whereas, Heather has served on the Board of Pharmacy since June 2019 and will retire in June 2025; and

 

Whereas, Heather is married to Jeremy Harris, and together, they have two daughters, Ella and Everly; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Heather has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize Heather Harris for her service to the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy, commend her for her many years of dedicated service, and wish her much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Heather Harris.
