A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE CAMDEN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TENNIS TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON, TO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THE 2024 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO RECOGNIZE THEIR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN CLAIMING BACK-TO-BACK STATE TITLES.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Camden High School boys tennis team for winning the 2024 South Carolina High School League Class AAA state championship; and

 

Whereas, on May 4, 2024, the Camden Bulldogs secured their second consecutive South Carolina High School League Class AAA State Championship by defeating the D.W. Daniel Lions with a commanding 6-0 victory in the title match; and

 

Whereas, Head Coach Abby Baytes led her team with determination and focus, guiding the Bulldogs through adversity and demonstrating the team's resilience, composure, and championship spirit; and

 

Whereas, the Bulldogs' victory in the final match included clinching four wins outright, with Camden leading in two additional matches when play was halted due to inclement weather, underscoring the team's dominance on the court; and

 

Whereas, the Camden High School boys tennis team has brought great pride to their school, families, and the greater Camden community through their dedication, sportsmanship, and pursuit of excellence; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Camden High School boys tennis team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented athletes.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Camden High School boys tennis team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season, honor them for winning the 2024 South Carolina High School League Class AAA state championship, and recognize their outstanding achievement in claiming back-to-back state titles.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Camden High School boys tennis team, Head Coach Abby Baytes, and Principal Rose Montgomery.
