    A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 59-1-420, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE LENGTH OF THE SCHOOL TERM, SO AS TO ADD FIVE ADDITIONAL SCHOOL DAYS TO BEGIN WITH SCHOOL YEAR 2000-2001 AND TO PROVIDE THAT ALL SUCH DAYS MUST BE USED FOR TEACHER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING WITH TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THESE ADDITIONAL DAYS.
