The Senate assembled at 2:00 P.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned, and was called to order by the PRESIDENT.

A quorum being present, the proceedings were opened with a devotion by the Chaplain as follows:

Beloved, hear a word from Proverbs, Chapter 4:7:

"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight."
Let us pray.

Father, help us to share both our wisdom and our insights.

If we should have hard and difficult tasks today, help us to keep our common goals and be motivated by our common purposes, so that ultimately we may rejoice together.

Father, if along the way, we should be thrown upon horns of dilemmas, help us to reexamine and test our thoughts and deeds.

We'd like to please our people. But, more important, if there is a difference, we prefer to please our Father-God!
Amen.
