A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-11-750 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE MEMBERS AND RETIRED MEMBERS OF GOVERNING BODIES OF ENTITIES WHOSE EMPLOYEES AND RETIREES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR STATE HEALTH AND DENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE ARE DEEMED EMPLOYEES FOR PURPOSES OF THESE INSURANCE PLANS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 1-11-750. Members and retired members of governing bodies of entities whose employees and retirees are eligible for coverage under the state health and dental insurance plan are deemed employees for purposes of this article."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 1994.
