A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-7-12 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT UNIFORM TRAFFIC TICKETS MAY NOT BE USED FOR PARKING OFFENSES.

Amend Title To Conform

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-7-12. The uniform traffic ticket, established under the provisions of Section 56-7-10, may not be used for parking violations. This section does not affect the provisions of Article 18, Chapter 3 of this title relating to violations for parking for handicapped persons."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
