A JOINT RESOLUTION TO AMEND SECTION 72.37 J., PART IB, ACT 419 OF 1998, RELATING TO EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENTS FOR STATE EMPLOYEES USING A PERSONAL VEHICLE FOR OFFICIAL BUSINESS, SO AS TO REDUCE THE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATE FROM 32.5 CENTS TO 31 CENTS PER MILE IN ORDER TO CONFORM WITH A REDUCTION IN THE ALLOWABLE REIMBURSEMENT RATE PURSUANT TO FEDERAL REGULATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Reimbursement rate reduced
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 72.37 J., Part IB, Act 419 of 1998, or any other provision of law to the contrary, the reimbursement rate for the use of a personal automobile when traveling on necessary official business is thirty-one (0.31) cents per mile. The provisions of subitem J. relating to the use of a personal vehicle when motor pool vehicles are reasonably available are unaffected by this resolution.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect April 1, 1999.
Ratified the 28th day of April, 1999.
Approved the 3rd day of May, 1999.
