AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 178 OF 1963, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CONVERSE AREA FIRE DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE DISTRICT'S BORROWING LIMIT FROM TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS TO EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Authority to borrow
SECTION 1. Section 5(h) of Act 178 of 1963 is amended to read:
"(h) To borrow not exceeding eight hundred fifty thousand dollars on the terms and for such a period as the fire control board determines most beneficial for the fire district in anticipation of taxes. The indebtedness must be evidenced by a note issued by the members of the board and the county treasurer. The full faith, credit, and taxing power of the Converse Area Fire District is irrevocably pledged for the payment of the indebtedness."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 30th day of January, 2001.
