THE COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE, NATURAL

RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS

    To whom was referred a Bill (H. 4714) to amend Section 50-11-310, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to open season on antlered deer, so as to provide, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

    That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:

    Amend the bill, as and if amended, by striking SECTION 1 in its entirety and inserting:

    /SECTION    1.    Section 50-11-310(A)(2) and (A)(3) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 57 of 1997, is further amended to read:

    "(2)    In Game Zones Zone 2 and 4: September fifteenth through September thirtieth, with archery equipment only; October first through October tenth, with primitive weapons only; October eleventh through January first, with archery equipment and firearms; Sundays excepted;

    (3)    In Game Zones 4, 5, and 7: with bow and arrow September first through January first and with firearms September fifteenth through January first; provided, further, in Game Zone 4 and 5: with primitive weapons September first through September fifteenth;"/

    Renumber sections to conform.

    Amend totals and title to conform.

A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-11-310, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO OPEN SEASON ON ANTLERED DEER, SO AS TO PROVIDE A SEASON FOR TAKING ANTLERED DEER WITH PRIMITIVE WEAPONS IN GAME ZONE FIVE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 50-11-310(A)(3) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 33 of 1997, is further amended to read:

        "(3)    In Game Zones 5 and 7: with bow and arrow September first through January first and with firearms September fifteenth through January first; provided, further, in Game Zone 5: with primitive weapons September first through September fifteenth;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
