REGULAR SESSION BEGINNING TUESDAY, JANUARY 10, 2017
The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Ecclesiastes 7:12: "For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to the one who possesses it."
Let us pray. Merciful God, we give You praise and thanks for Your many blessings this week. Grant these, Your people, a safe weekend and rest from their labors. Continue Your blessings upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who so wonderfully provide support for our leaders. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of those who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, hear our prayers. Amen.
After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
