A senate RESOLUTION

to honor the one hundredth anniversary of Richland School District Two in recognition of the district's century of dedication to education, community, and excellence, and to proclaim January 29, 2026, as "Richland School District Two Centennial Celebration Day" in South Carolina.

Whereas, in 1926, the citizens of Northeast Richland County established Richland School District Two with the vision of providing quality education to every child; and

Whereas, for one hundred years, Richland School District Two has been a cornerstone of the community, fostering academic excellence, athletic achievement, artistic expression, community service, and leadership, while building a proud tradition of learning and legacy; and

Whereas, the district has grown to become one of the largest and most dynamic in South Carolina, serving generations of students and families with innovation, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to preparing learners for success in an ever-changing world; and

Whereas, from the opening day of the 2026 Centennial Year, activities are scheduled throughout the year to highlight the learning, leadership, and legacy of Richland School District Two; and

Whereas, the one hundredth anniversary of Richland School District Two is a momentous occasion to reflect upon the past, celebrate the present, and look forward with hope and determination to the future. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor the one hundredth anniversary of Richland School District Two in recognition of the district's century of dedication to education, community, and excellence, and proclaim January 29, 2026, as "Richland School District Two Centennial Celebration Day" in South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Kim Moore, Superintendent of Richland School District Two .
