Welcome to the House Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee. The Committee handles legislation and issues that directly impact nearly every South Carolinian. Agriculture is the largest industry in South Carolina and includes timber, crops, and livestock. South Carolina’s natural resources stretch from coastal beaches to South Carolina’s highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains and includes the Atlantic Ocean, rivers, lakes, and forests, along with the animals they house, as well as minerals, natural gas, fossils, and aquifers. Take a step outside and look around and you’ll see South Carolina’s beautiful environment encompassing all land, air, water, and sea. If a bill or issue comes up that touches these items, then this Committee will be the one to handle it.
