A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF SPRINGDALE IN LEXINGTON COUNTY AS THEY PREPARE TO CELEBRATE ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1995, THE FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TOWN'S INCORPORATION.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly note with pleasure that the Town of Springdale in Lexington County will celebrate on September 9, 1995, the fortieth anniversary of the town's incorporation; and

Whereas, this anniversary is good cause for the celebration's being organized in recognition of this milestone, by allowing Springdale residents to participate in events that demonstrate their just pride in the progress and development of Springdale and simultaneously honor all those civic leaders, past and present, whose dedicated service to the people of Springdale has developed a progressive community of friendly people, dynamic churches, quality education, a clean environment, active businesses, and safe neighborhoods, exemplifying an All-American town; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they recognize this important anniversary in the life of a community which has contributed so much to the Midlands and to the State at large. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the residents of the Town of Springdale in Lexington County as they prepare to celebrate on September 9, 1995, the fortieth anniversary of the town's incorporation.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to The Honorable Pat Smith, Mayor of the Town of Springdale.
