Summary: Isolated Wetlands Act of 2006
    A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING CHAPTER 38 TO TITLE 48 SO AS TO ENACT THE "SOUTH CAROLINA ISOLATED WETLANDS ACT OF 2006" AND TO PROVIDE THAT FOR PURPOSES OF THIS ACT, ISOLATED WETLANDS ARE THOSE WETLANDS NOT REGULATED BY THE FEDERAL CLEAN WATER ACT, TO ESTABLISH PROCEDURES AND CRITERIA FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL TO ISSUE PERMITS FOR CONDUCTING CERTAIN DISCHARGING, DRAINING, AND DITCHING ACTIVITIES IN ISOLATED WETLANDS AND TO MONITOR PERMIT COMPLIANCE.
