A Bill to amend Section 23-11-110 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to qualifications of sheriffs, so as to provide that fingerprints must be made available to the State Law Enforcement Division forty-five days after filing for election to the office, rather than sixty days before the close of qualification for election to the office; to provide that candidates must file a sworn affidavit forty-five days after filing for election to the office rather than within sixty days before he qualifies; and to provide that this Act applies with respect to candidates filing for election beginning January 1, 1996.
