A Bill to amend Section 12-37-220, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to ad valorem property tax exemption, so as to provide that a dwelling house and a lot of land, not to exceed one acre, of a surviving spouse of a serviceman killed in action in the line of duty is exempt from property taxation if the lot is purchased and the dwelling house is constructed or purchased subsequent to the death of the serviceman and if the surviving spouse has not remarried or if the surviving spouse owned a lot and dwelling house at the time of the serviceman's death and has not remarried.
