A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 59-39-155 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IF ANY STATE LICENSING, APPOINTMENT, ELECTION, ADMISSION, EMPLOYMENT, OR OTHER PROCESS REQUIRES THE APPLICANT TO POSSESS A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR ITS EQUIVALENT, NO SUCH DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE SHALL BE ACCEPTABLE FOR PURPOSES OF THAT PROCESS UNLESS THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION CERTIFIES THAT THE STANDARDS OF THE INSTITUTION GRANTING THE DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE OR THE STANDARDS OF ANY TESTING USED TO GRANT THE DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE ARE AT LEAST COMPARABLE TO THOSE OF THE STATE.
