    A BILL TO AMEND ACT 612 OF 1984, RELATING TO THE SPARTANBURG COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS, INCLUDING REQUIRING THAT A PETITION BE FILED IN ORDER TO PLACE A CANDIDATE ON THE BALLOT, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT AN INCUMBENT BOARD MEMBER WHO HAS PREVIOUSLY MET THIS PETITION REQUIREMENT AND WHO HAS BEEN IN CONTINUOUS SERVICE IS ONLY REQUIRED TO SUBMIT HIS OR HER NAME AND A ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR FILING FEE AND TO DELETE THE PROVISION THAT IF NO PETITION IS FILED THE BOARD OF EDUCATION MUST APPOINT A SUCCESSOR.
