A Bill to amend Section 12-7-435, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to deductions from South Carolina taxable income for purposes of the State individual income tax, so as to provide a uniform deduction of five thousand dollars of the pension benefits of federal civilian and military retirees, retirees of the various State retirement systems, and retirees under South Carolina municipalities and counties separate group retirement plans; to amend Sections 9-1-1680, as amended, 9-8-190, 9-9-180, and 9-11-270, relating to the tax exemption allowed retirement benefits of the various State retirement systems, so as to delete the exemption from the State individual income tax; and to repeal Section 12-7-436, relating to the phase-in of the former three thousand dollar exclusion.
